Welcome to Arnika Centre for Dual Diagnosis

What Is Arnika Centre?

  • Arnika Centre for Dual Diagnosis is a service for adults and teenagers 16 years of age and up with an intellectual disability and a mental health problem.
  • A community-based service within the Calgary region since January 2003.
  • An interdisciplinary team of professionals with members from psychiatry, psychology, neurology, nursing and social work.

Why Arnika?

  • Arnika is a hardy, naturally occurring wild flower in Alberta. Our centre acknowledges our patients’ strengths in addition to the challenges they face.

Our Philosophy

  • To work with caregivers and community agencies to stabilize individuals in their communities.
  • To offer a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to assessing and treating mental illness.
  • To relieve stress on the inpatient hospital system.
  • To continue to expand our services to provide the best possible care to our clients.
  • To offer educational opportunities with the University of Calgary.
